Never Fade Away: Untold Stories of Developmental Disability

An oral history podcast where we explore the untold stories of people with developmental disabilities. Produced by LADD, a leading nonprofit advocacy and services organization for people with disabilities in the Midwest, Never Fade Away preserves personal narratives from Ohioans with developmental disabilities—before and after the ADA.

Each episode features stories from individuals who lived through institutional systems, such as the Columbus State Institute and Orient, alongside younger voices who have only known integrated classrooms and evolving opportunities for independent living. These oral histories reveal resilience, challenge, change, and hope.

Kate Rigg

Artist and Community Organizer Kate Siahaan-Rigg is a graduate of the Juilliard School drama division. She is creative director for the nations only disability led diversity film festival "The Over the Rhine International Film Festival" hosted by LADD, and is a frequent speaker on cultural inclusion, speaking truth to power, and women in comedy. She teaches stand-up at the Manhattan Comedy School, acting for opera singers at Wolf Trap, and her solo comedy shows have been invited to The Smithsonian Institute, The Comedy Central Theater, The Edinburgh Fringe , LA Grand Performances, Montreal Comedy Festival, The Vancouver International Comedy Festival, and many more. Television credits include Tales of the City, Elsbeth, Law and Order, New Amsterdam, Fox's Family Guy. She is also the creator/ Executive Producer of Cache Craze on Disney XD, Dance Your Ass Off on Oxygen TV and Tour Dates for E!
